How fees work
We have no contracts with insurance companies. Here is how paying works, in the order people ask.
If you pay yourself
Most of our patients pay at the visit. You will know the cost in writing before we start. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you are paying without insurance, we give it to you in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists the visit, each step we expect and what each one costs.

Insurance we work with
We are out of network with every plan, because we have no contract with insurance companies. If your plan reimburses dentists outside its network, our receipt lets you ask it to pay you back; the plan decides what it covers. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.

Receipts for reimbursement
After every visit we give you an itemized receipt. You can send it to a plan that reimburses dentists outside its network. Whether the plan pays, and how much, is the plan's decision.

Checking your benefits
We don't check benefits, because we don't bill plans. If your plan reimburses outside its network, call the number on your card and ask what it pays for a dentist outside its network. We give you the procedure codes for your visit if you ask.

What the first visit includes
About an hour: a talk about what worries you, an exam with Dr. Almaraz, X-rays only if she needs them, and a written estimate before any treatment. Fill in your health history on the office's private portal, not in a message or in the contact form.

Ask before you come
If you have a question about a cost, ask it first. We are glad to explain how it works.
